The tour begins by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, with a visit to the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. You’ll then continue along the Draa Valley, passing through the village of Agdez, before finally reaching the Zagora desert.
Here you’ll have the chance to take a camel trek, walk with a guide or take transport to the desert camp. Enjoy the magnificent sunset and sunrise over the sand dunes and spend the night at a desert camp, where you can listen to traditional drum music and dance around the campfire under a starry sky. The journey begins in a comfortable private 4×4 or minivan, heading towards the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Our first destination is the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient walled city is home to around six Kasbahs, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll continue on to the town of Ouarzazate, a renowned filming location for Hollywood movies such as The Living Daylights, Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Time permitting, we may visit the Atlas Film Studios, where entry costs 8.00 euros (not included in the tour price). In the afternoon, we’ll travel through the picturesque Draa Valley, known for its lush oasis and breathtaking scenery, perfect for photography. At the end of the day, we’ll meet our camels and ride to the Zagora desert camp.
The second day begins with the journey back from the Zagora desert, retracing our steps through the picturesque Draa Valley. We’ll head back over the High Atlas Mountains, offering further opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. We’ll pass through Ouarzazate once again before continuing on to Marrakech.
